Tell us a little about yourself and your role in the community. What makes Manchester special to you?

My name is Christina Bui. I am 16 years old and I am a junior in high school. I have been a part of Manchester Proud for about 3 years and have gained many experiences involving the community and the Manchester Public Schools. Manchester is where I was born and where I live which is why Manchester is so special to me, this pushes me to be involved in the community as much as I can

How are you involved in Manchester Proud and why is this work important to you?

I was part of Manchester Proud’s Community Planning group for 2 years and I am now a part of Manchester Proud’s Dashboard Work group. My focus is specifically towards learners because I have many years of learning experience in the Manchester Public Schools and more years of learning to come. Manchester Proud is very important to me because I believe that bettering the public education in Manchester will further strengthen the community and overall academic experience for all learners which is crucial for after graduation.

Fast forward five years: share with us your aspirations and vision for Manchester’s public schools.

My aspirations and visions for the Manchester Public School system in five years is an overall improvement in academic performance for all students, such as increased AP class enrollment, increased graduation rate, and academic readiness. I hope to see an increased amount of support for all students academically and after graduation. After all the data and experience collected I believe that in just five years we will see many improvements in the Manchester Public schools.
