The Manchester Young Professionals Network recently announced its endorsement of Manchester Proud in an email to their members:

Dear MYPN Member:

Several months ago, a group of local business leaders presented Manchester Proud, a community-based movement with a mission of engaging our community in the creation of a comprehensive plan for the future of our public schools, to the Greater Manchester Chamber Board of Directors. As your MYPN Advisory Council Chair, I have a seat on the Chamber Board to represent MYPN. Following this presentation, I voted along with the Chamber Board to unanimously lend our full support to this initiative.

Last week, Manchester Proud presented to the MYPN Advisory Council. As a group of young professionals interested in seeing Manchester thrive, the council also voted unanimously to endorse Manchester Proud. MYPN is now amongst numerous other community organizations standing for and behind this important cause.

Overall, Manchester is a thriving community with considerable resources. Young professionals are starting their careers in the city and building their families here. We are supported by exceptional colleges and universities, as well as impactful nonprofits. And, our growing diversity offers a wealth of talents and richness of cultures unique in New Hampshire.

Despite these positive trends, our public schools face significant challenges while, at the same time, we hear from our friends and neighbors that they are moving out of the city in search of different educational opportunities for their young children. A prosperous future for Manchester requires public schools that not only educate and train our own kids, but are a source of pride and vital asset in the recruitment of outside talent and young families considering a move to Manchester.

More than 100 of the city’s most notable businesses and community organizations have signed-on as Champions of Manchester Proud, and now MYPN joins their ranks. Additionally, the movement has gained the support of Manchester’s School Board and teachers’ union.

Given the importance of this work, I am asking that you, as a young professional in this wonderful community, also become an active supporter of Manchester Proud.

Here are a few ways you can help:

Now is the time for us to come together and be a voice for young people building their lives in Manchester by lifting our public schools to greater excellence.

Thanks for your support, MYPN! If you or your organization would like to become a Manchester Proud Champion, fill out this brief form to let us know.
